It was in 2009, when a group of individual riders just came together to have fun and created an identity for themselves.

It came about when a biker club based in Mandaue was demissed. And the its ex-members had been riding in smaller groups. Then came the bikers from Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center, they are composed of doctors, dentist and nurses who are big bike enthousiast. 

Due to our love of bikes and the passion on riding, the group just formed itself. 

 

The name Island Riders-Cebu was a brain child of Shauming Lo, one of the founding member. He was previously a Cebu-based Chinese-Malaysian. The first members were also composed of one German and a few fun-loving Cebuanos. 

 

The first club president is Mr. Marcelino Fua and was followed by its current president Col. Clifford Gairanod. The club was introduced to the biker community during the first "Biketoberfest" organized by the Star Touring and Riding. During that event we got the Best Club Attendance in terms of numbers. And the rest is history.
